In the run-up to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 17) in Durban, South Africa last December, the World Bank Connect4Climate social media campaign launched a photo and video contest on climate change.
People from the ages of 13 to 35 were asked to share their personal climate change stories focused on Africa around six key themes: Agriculture, Energy, Forests, Gender, Health, Water. Through photos and videos of 60 seconds or less, young people entering the Connect4Climate competition were able to tell and give vibrant evidence of how climate change is affecting their lives and communities.
Winners were announced at COP17 in Durban and awarded at the WB offices in Africa and in Washington. Check out the Connect4Climate website to see all the selected pictures and videos, and learn more about the people who captured them! http://www.connect4climate.org/
